Description: Yin Yoga Workshop with Danielle Storm
Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that utilizes the extended holding of passive postures, often with props. In contrast to Yang Yoga, Yin is practiced with as little use of muscles as possible in order to access the deeper connective tissues, to bring a greater flexibility to both the body and the mind. As we hold these shapes, we get the opportunity to play with our awareness and perception of sensation in the body, and explore our reactions to those sensations. In this workshop, Danielle will go over the basics of Yin Yoga- its origins, practice, and purpose-and move through a guided Yin sequence with an opportunity to discuss at the end.
