We will break down the basic fundamentals of Pilates and the details involved in each exercise. A great workshop for not only the beginner but experienced practitioner to depend your understanding of Pilates.

Instructor: Patricia Ruiz

Patricia Ruiz, originally from Manhattan, Kansas, a former professional dancer, moved to NYC in 1989. She started teaching Pilates out of her living room in 2001 as a single mom, with daughter in a high chair cheering her clients on! Patricia is the founder of MovingStrength. She opened the first MovingStrength studio in 2005 with only herself and one other trainer which has grown into an extremely successful business with locations throughout the NY area.  Two on the upper east side, one on the upper west and a pop up in Tribeca and first franchise studio BODYHOO Moving Stength Brooklyn.The studios offering a variety of group and private classes and trainings. She is a certified pilates teacher as well as Personal Trainer through ACE, and holds certifications in Power Pilates, Yoga, Resist-a-Ball, TRX Suspension Training and Healthy Moms Perinatal Training. Patricia has a unique teaching style- classically trained yet blends knowledge of PT, as well as contemporary movement corrective exercises to best meet her client's needs. She also conducts teacher trainings and certifications.  She has been a single mom raising two young ladies on her own- one now a Nurse and the other entering college into Neuro science.
